October 2024 Update

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve now raised over £100,000 towards the building project — £113,794 to date — and we’re ready to press ahead with Phase 2.

Thank you to everyone who has given so generously, and to the Bures Music Festival (£2,000), Babergh District Council (£5,000) and the Beatrice Laing Trust (£4,000) for their grant funding.

Phase 2 will focus on building the hall toilet block, providing accessible facilities for those with mobility limitations, along with modern sanitary fixtures, baby-changing stations, underfloor heating and corridor connections. We expect construction to start before the end of the year.

Throughout the year we’ve been so encouraged by our fundraising events — a quiz night, a comedy night with Andy Kind, and a community celebration with the West Bergholt Concert Band — each one bringing people together while helping us get closer to our goal.
